It’s still great though 490 nits for the manual slider which can boost to 890 nits in auto mode. Otherwise, you get the same bells and whistles here Dolby Vision 10-bit color and hdr10 plus. The sharpness and contrast are great here and the colors can be accurate depending on the settings you choose and the 120 Hz refresh rate smooths out movement like swiping and scrolling it. It will automatically dial down to 60 Hz when you stop interacting with the screen to save energy. MIUI is supposed to bring a suite of new features but we haven’t gotten it yet, Maybe with a software update. What you do get here is similar to what we’ve seen before on Xiaomi phones but a bit more responsive thanks to some behind-the-scenes optimizations. You also get a Remote control app for your appliances since the phone has an IR blaster.
At the heart of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro is a MediaTek density 1080. The same chips you’ll also find in the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. It’s a great improvement over the Snapdragon 695 we saw in the last year’s Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G both in the CPU and GPU performance. Overall the scores of Redmi Note 12 Pro are among the best in the mid-range class and the performance is also satisfying when it comes to both multitasking and gaming.
Just like last year’s models, the Redmi Note 12 Pro has a 5000 Milliamp hour battery. It was able to score an endurance rating of 97 hours in our proprietary tests. Less than last year due to a just average standby performance still the screen on results were great. Unlike the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus which comes with a 120 Watt charger the Redmi Note 12 Pro only supports 67 Watt charging. It’s far from slow though we were able to charge the phone from 0 to 78% in half an hour.
There’s a 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera as well as a 2-megapixel macro camera. 50 megapixels may seem like a downgrade from the 108 megapixels in last year’s model. But with pixel bending, the end resolution isn’t so different and you get OIS this time around too.
The cam’s 12.5-megapixel photos look great for the class. There are enough details low noise, high contrast, Punchy colors, and dynamic range. But how does the quality compare with the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus with this 200-megapixel camera? The quality of the two is quite close. The main difference is that the Plus model’s colors are more true to life and are fine details. The portraits given with the Note 12 Pro are pretty good.
The subject is detailed well exposed and colorful and the separation is proficient. Its dynamic range is good too. Photos from the Ultra-wide are quite nice for this sort of camera Because there’s plenty of detail mostly true to the life colors and low noise. There’s a lot of contrast and the dynamic range is good too. Two-megapixel close-ups for the macro camera are alright. There’s enough detail for this resolution and the colors look good.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro automatically uses the night mode processing with this main camera diet. These photos look quite nice with great exposure, plenty of detail, saturated colors, and low noise. The dynamic range is wide although some shadows do come out quite dark. Let’s talk about its comparison with the auto-night mode photos from the Pro Pus’s main camera.
There’s hardly any difference between the two models. The capture time is a little faster on the Pro Plus. Its photos are a bit darker and occasionally a little sharper. Using the dedicated night mode on the Node 12 Pro will sometimes get you brighter photos with better-exposed detail in the shadows. The difference is minor though. Opting out of the night enhancements will get you a more natural look with a little more detail. These photos are darker though with a narrow dynamic range. Let’s compare its details with the Pro Plus.
Again the Pro Plus model’s exposure is a bit darker and you’ll see that the photos will have a more natural look rendition. In low light, the 12 Pro’s Ultra-wide photos will have a passable level of detail and color saturation. They will be dark and noisy though and the dynamic range is low. You can toggle on the night mode which does improve the exposure colors and dynamic range. You lose a lot of detail though and what’s left looks smeared.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro takes selfies with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. These pictures are likable with great colors, high contrast, and an okay level of detail.
Now on to video recording, 4K videos from the main camera are impressive with a high level of detail, a pleasant rendition, Lively colors, and good dynamic range. The sharpening may maybe a bit much but the footage will remain good. The Ultra-wide camera shoots in 1080P resolution the quality is great with nice detail, low noise, accurate colors, and a wide dynamic range. There’s an electronic stabilization though not in 4K otherwise it’s always on and it does a decent job of smoothing things out.
In low-light conditions, the main camera does a decent job with this video recording. There’s a bright exposure and saturated colors, good dynamic range, and enough detail. There’s a noticeable noise though.
So first of all, go into settings, then scroll to the connection and sharing. Now scroll down all the way and select the reset Bluetooth. Now click on the reset settings, and if it doesn’t work, you can additionally perform the factory reset of your smartphone by scrolling down and going into additional settings. Scroll down again and pick the factory reset. Now you’ll bring all of the default settings back, and it will work now.
The smartphone has a super-long battery life of up to 1.35 days that will serve you as a daily driver without issue.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro supports 5G and doesn’t use eSIM.
This great model has an AMOLED screen and the phone has a fingerprint sensor that is embedded into a button.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro is a nice mid-range all around with a great screen and a decent chipset, fast enough charging, and a good camera performance. We don’t even miss the Pro Plus’s 200-megapixel main camera and this model is considered way cheaper too. The Note 12 Pro isn’t perfect but is quite solid with the price and worth recommending.
